1ST SHIFT CUSTOM CRATER
About The Position
Perform crating and packaging activities to prepare items for shipment and storage. Devise layout and build crating for equipment such as frozen dessert equipment, industrial cleaning equipment, service parts, and others as instructed. Maintain accurate records of sizes, weights, and materials used on each crate. Work from job packets, locator files, sales orders, computer terminals, and other records to identify and locate parts and storage locations. Following best practices, work with packing and crating materials to block, support, brace, and secure equipment to prevent damage in transit. According to proper procedures set up and operate a wide variety of manual and powered equipment such as nail guns, saws, and banders to build crates. Must pass forklift operations test and safely use forklifts as required. Must be accurate with figures and record keeping to process and maintain reports, records, and documents. Initiate requisitioning process for crating materials. Report difficulties to the supervisor and take corrective action as instructed. Follow good housekeeping procedures and safety practices. Assist and advise others and perform other activities as required.
