About The Position

The position involves operating spraying equipment, tender trucks, and other application equipment, as well as NH3 equipment. Responsibilities include assisting in loading and unloading vehicles based on work orders, operating a semi-truck in the off-season, and maintaining a clean and well-maintained work area, equipment, and vehicles. The role requires working extended hours as requested by the supervisor to ensure good customer service during the busy season. Safety is a priority, and employees must perform work safely, use appropriate PPE, and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers. The position also emphasizes accountability, professionalism, customer service, and personal/professional development.

Requirements

• Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
• Must have or the ability to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Applicator's License.
• Must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical every 2 years.
• High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Understand the seasonality of the farm supply business and the in-season time commitment.
• Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customers and individuals at all levels.
• Possesses problem solving capability and understands operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate spraying equipment, tender trucks, and NH3 equipment.
• Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles based on work orders.
• Operate a semi-truck in the off-season as needed.
• Assist in other areas of the location as needed.
• Ensure that work area, equipment, and vehicles are neat, clean, and well maintained.
• Assist in calibrating application equipment and maintenance of equipment.
• Use all tools, equipment, and vehicles carefully and for their intended use.
• Work extended hours as requested by supervisor.
