About The Position

The University of North Georgia is seeking a full-time Custodian for its Gainesville campus. This role involves performing custodial maintenance duties to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of assigned buildings and areas on campus, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working from ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to operate equipment and small hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Custodial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial maintenance duties including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming carpets/floors.
• Clean restrooms and restock paper and soap supplies.
• Empty trash receptacles and move trash for disposal.
• Change light bulbs as needed or directed.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Police grounds around assigned building/work site.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
