About The Position

Washington County Public Works is currently hiring for a Custodian. This position will provide custodial services in county facilities including cleaning, maintenance, and contracted services to ensure the public and staff have a safe and accessible experience. Must have the ability to work both independently and with a team and maintain a positive attitude on a daily basis. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in delivering consistent and excellent customer service.
• Experience with custodial work in a commercial building or manufacture building.

Nice To Haves

• Custodial work experience in commercial buildings.
• Building cleaning techniques coursework.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled interior and exterior maintenance tasks including cleaning, disinfecting, and re-supplying restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash; clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
• Clean furniture and fixtures; dust surfaces, clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Vacuum and extract carpets; strip, seal and finish floors.
• Set up, arrange and move tables, chairs, equipment for meetings and other events.
• Perform preventive maintenance service on assigned maintenance equipment.
• Update usage reports for maintenance and inventory control.
• Complete forms, logs, and other documentation as required.
• Inspect and perform ground maintenance including picking up debris and sweeping sidewalks.
• Perform snow and ice control tasks including the operation of motorized equipment.
• Monitor supply levels and order supplies as needed.
• Perform a variety of minor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Prepare supplies and work order requests.
• Locate and transport supplies and materials as needed.
• Ensure outside and inside doors are locked and set security systems in designated buildings.
• Report alarms and warning signs indicating potential equipment failures.
• May lead a team in absence of Lead Custodian.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
