About The Position

The Custodian position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and satisfactorily performs a variety of routine custodial functions in assigned building(s).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required
• Must maintain valid Driver's License
• General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
• Must be able to understand oral and written directions

Responsibilities

• Clean: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting; cleaning glass windows, doors, partitions; emptying trash containers; disinfect and sanitize; strip and wax floors
• Replenish supplies
• Remove trash, leaves and debris around building
• Use power equipment - blower, vacuum
• Change light bulbs
• Assist with unloading incoming supplies and equipment and deliver to appropriate areas
• Maintain security of assigned keys; and locks and unlocks doors in accordance with schedule
• Assist with setting up of tables, chairs and the preparation of facilities for meetings or special events
• Participate in the removal of snow and ice from steps, walkways and parking lots
• Perform other related duties as incidental to the work described herein.
