The Custodian position is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while ensuring the cleanliness of the store, both inside and out.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• Ability to write identifying information and request supplies verbally or in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service.
• Orders cleaning products as needed and audits invoices for correctness.
• Responsible for total store cleanliness and appearance, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, and sanitizing.
• Changes ceiling lights and monitors plumbing, fixtures, coolers, and freezers.
• Installs and replaces towel, paper, and soap dispensers.
• Empties garbage and crushes cardboard.
• Conducts inventory on products for costs and amounts used every quarter.
• Responsible for equipment maintenance and unclogs drains as needed.
• Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
