About The Position

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being. We are currently seeking a Custodian to work in our Support Services Department. The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all agency facilities. The Custodian also assists with Children’s Home special events as needed. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday-Sunday OFF.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NYS Driver License in good condition as determined by the Agency.
• Previous experience in housekeeping/custodial work.
• Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience working in a congregate care environment.
• Appropriate certifications/licensure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all agency facilities.
• Assist with Children’s Home special events as needed.
