About The Position

Provides custodial services at assigned site; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events; and completing assignments in a safe, proper, and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Proficiency Test.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge based competencies required to perform the functions of the job include products and materials used in a school setting.
  • Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including operating equipment and materials used in industrial maintenance; adhering to safety practices; preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds thereby maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive learning environment.
  • Consult with administrative and other custodial personnel for the purpose of planning, prioritizing, and scheduling custodial activities and achieving site maintenance objectives.
  • Informs students and other site personnel by providing information and direction regarding activities, safety issues, and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, identifying necessary repairs to facilities and/or equipment, etc.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment to ensure the availability of custodial items required for properly maintained facilities.
  • Monitor students and staff in and around work areas to help prevent injuries and ensuring site safety.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and trainings as may be requested.
  • Perform snow removal to ensure access and safety to site.
  • Perform minor, job related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures to ensure proper functionality and usability of items and facilities.
  • Prepare various written materials for the purpose of documenting activities and/or identifying activities to appropriate personnel for review and/or action.
  • Replenish classroom and rest room supplies.
  • Requisition equipment, supplies and materials maintaining availability of required items to perform job functions.
  • Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns by taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Support other site maintenance staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required/assigned.
