About The Position

A part-time Custodian’s primary function is the maintenance and upkeep of the Ward Church facility and its grounds. RESPONSIBILITIES Interior: Maintain the building by the following: Clean, buff, strip, and wax tile floors Vacuum and shampoo carpeting Dust and polish furniture Clean glass and mirrors Clean floors and fixtures in restrooms Keep adequate supplies (soap, towels, etc.) in restrooms Dispose of all waste material Arrange furniture, as required by the various groups Clean doors, door frames, light switch areas, windowsills, handrails, radiator covers, drinking fountains, etc. Replace burned out light bulbs Lock and unlock building and rooms, as required Do minor maintenance work, as necessary And other miscellaneous duties, as required Exterior: Maintain areas adjacent to the building as follows: Sweep entrances and walkways Pick up all paper and debris Maintain planted areas Shovel snow Do minor maintenance work, as necessary And other related duties, as required Attend other functions of the church, as assigned. Requirements

High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience
Pleasant
Team player
Proactive self-starter

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a custodian or maintenance position preferred
Outside equipment, particularly snow removal equipment experience, preferred
