POSITION SUMMARY The Custodian supports the mission of the Center for Human Services (CHS) by ensuring the health, safe and functional cleanliness of the assigned facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures building and grounds are cleaned and operational in compliance with quality standards required by licensing and sanitation regulations and completed daily and monthly tasks in accordance with the following Housekeeping Checklist by ensuring the following tasks are completed: Cleans sinks, toilets, mirrors, and refills soap dispensers, towel dispensers, paper towel, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, and replaces air fresheners and batteries in dispensers daily. Empty trash from building daily. Daily sanitizes all surfaces, such as sinks, doorknobs, and light switches. Cleans glass doors and windows weekly, more often as needed. Pick up and remove trash from outside, as needed. Dust public areas and lobbies and scrub walls weekly or more often if needed. Successfully maintains floor maintenance and using equipment floor buffers and scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, wet/dry mop and completing the following tasks: Vacuums carpeted floor in classrooms daily. Wet/dry mop and sanitize all floors daily. Buff floors (if needed). Complete paperwork necessary for documentation of housekeeping functions by creating housekeeping checklists, and as necessary, submit repair work orders and maintain an adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies through weekly ordering. Ensures safety precautions and compliance with all CHS and OSHA safety regulations by performing all duties in a safe and healthy manner, secures buildings upon exit and if necessary, reporting all incidents and/or injuries according to CHS policies and procedures. Creates an environment of accountability by utilizing timekeeping system to clock in and out and transfer time correctly, working extended or modified work schedule as needed, training all new staff and substitutes on housekeeping tasks as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
