About The Position
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Custodian position has the responsibility of maintaining a clean environment for all associates and guests of the company. Determining cleanliness can be subjective, so the Custodian must listen to recommendations by those affected and adhere to the requirements of the Operations Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED plus one year practical experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Competent oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Follow prescribed safety procedures
- Sweep Shop Floor (work areas, entrance, exits, travel ways)
- Clean, mop, wash, buff, and vacuum floors, regularly using a walk-behind industrial sweeper
- Empty trash
- Maintain outside walk areas including sweeping debris, washing walkways, and keeping pathways safe using de-icer
- Remove recycling materials
- Track maintenance supplies and communicate with purchaser to order additional quantities
- Clean windows, vents, and change light bulbs
- Clean tables, chairs, or other furniture
- Set-up and maintain training room for various types of activities
- Communicate work log completion and report any scheduled changes that were not able to be performed and the reason
- Assist maintenance technicians as needed
- Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management and recognize the responsibilities of being a part owner of the company
