About The Position

To perform custodial duties as required by district standards; to maintain the cleanliness and safe conditions of a school environment Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work in Operations. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.

Requirements

Working knowledge and experience of custodial equipment, supplies, and proper cleaning procedures
Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate
Demonstrates commitment to the MPS Promise that every student is known by name, served by strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and community
Ability to work independently, under pressure and follow directions
Ability to perform heavy manual labor as required
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff members
Satisfactory work record
Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

Perform custodial duties as required by district standards
Perform many diversified tasks each day to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the schools
Operate custodial power equipment
Assist in moving equipment and furniture as required
Regular and on-time attendance required
Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
