Custodian - Hurricane Rest Area
About The Position
Provides custodial and grounds services at the Hurricane Rest Area sites located on I-64 in Hurricane, WV. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Keeps all custodial and grounds maintenance tasks complete and up-to-date. Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow with equipment provided. Monitor rest area grounds and pick up any liter. Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Cleans all sinks, commodes, and mirrors. All other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned. Various shifts may include: 12-hour shift, weekends, overnight shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred, and one to three months experience and/or training.
- Must have ability to pass criminal background check.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Prior custodial experience strongly preferred.
