We invite you to join us in our vision of “Making Lives Better!” The Custodian performs moderately complex custodial work at Bivins Pointe and other specific assigned areas, involving cleaning and caring for the building and premises, maintaining custodial equipment, requesting supplies and participating in performing minor equipment repairs and installation. The role works under limited supervision with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test
• One (1) year of janitorial or general cleaning work in an industrial environment
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner

• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy

Responsibilities

• Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
• Performs moderately complex custodial work at Bivins Pointe and other specific assigned areas
• Work involves cleaning and caring for the building and premises, maintaining custodial equipment, requesting supplies and participating in performing minor equipment repairs and installation
• Coordinates with the Support Services Director in the cleaning and custodial maintenance of other areas and buildings when the need arises
• Requisitions supplies as needed, coordinates with available staff to cover custodial work caused by staff shortage
• Attends training as required by Human Resource Development and/or custodial manager
• Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
