Temporary Part-time custodian 2nd shift Monday-Friday
About The Position
The custodian position is responsible for helping maintain a clean and safe environment of all inside spaces which include Residential housing, Academic buildings, Athletic facilities, Student centers and dining locations for Elon University Campus. This includes, but not limited to, maintain and cleaning equipment, the cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, vacuuming floors, and removing all trash from the premises, cleaning of biohazards and high touch areas. Custodians are also responsible for monitoring special events and athletic games across campus making sure areas are clean and sanitized during events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Responsibilities
- Clean all areas of the assigned buildings and maintain custodial closets in a neat and orderly fashion and other duties deemed necessary by the shift supervisor.
- Turn in cleaning supply orders at designated time and report any maintenance problems to the immediate supervisor.
- Clean and sanitize all bathrooms and showers in assigned areas as well as all counter tops and stalls.
- Remove all trash and replenish all dispensers, paper products and soap. Dust furniture and all woodwork, sweep, and vacuum floors on a daily basis.
- Clean all white boards, chalk boards and make sure dry markers and chalk are replenished in all classrooms.
- Clean all window seals, blinds, kick plates, and windows and remove all cobwebs in entranceways.
- Clean, vacuum and maintain all entry matting daily. Dust all light fixtures, vents, behind washers and dryers in all laundry rooms Remove trash and recyclables daily and make sure that trashcans are clean and the liners are changed daily.
- In the assigned area this position will be responsible for ten feet outside their building as to sweeping all patios, removing cigarette butts, and cleaning the outside entrance.
- Maintain cleaning equipment as in changing vacuum bags, buckets, brooms, mops and is also responsible for maintaining the right stock levels in their closets.
