Performs routine custodial tasks including but not limited to: Sweeping in classrooms, offices, hallways, closets, etc. Mopping in classrooms, offices, hallways, closets, etc. Dusting Floor care (waxing/polishing, or vacuuming) Relocating or rearranging furniture Washing windows, mirrors, woodwork, walls and other surfaces Restroom cleaning including toilets, sinks, restroom stalls, and doors Replenishing tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchen, and classrooms facilities Emptying wastebaskets and other trash receptacles Locking and unlocking doors Picking up paper/debris and other trash in school building or on school grounds Cleaning chalkboards and / or whiteboards Closing windows and window blinds Cleaning upholstery Turning heating and air conditioning equipment on and off Cleaning walks and exterior/interior steps and railings Cleaning up playground litter/debris Maintaining general grounds as directed Replacing light ballasts and bulbs Removing snow and ice Setting up for and cleaning up after special school events Assists with minor system maintenance as time allows Accepts responsibility for duties assigned to the position by the Director of Buildings and Grounds, building principal, and head custodian Other duties as assigned Maintains standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees
