About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at a Federal Courthouse in Las Cruces, NM. Requirements

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate with armed Federal Officials while cleaning the holding cells of restrained individuals.
Ability to complete work tasks in an environment with armed Federal Officials.

Responsibilities

Empty and disinfect trash receptacles, ensuring they are free of dirt, dust, streaks, and spots; replace liners as needed.
Clean and disinfect fixtures, shelves, mirrors, glass surfaces, and dispensers; maintain surfaces free from discoloration, rust, dust, streaks, stains, mildew, cobwebs, and excess moisture.
Clean bare floors, ensuring removal of spills, dirt, dust, trash, gum, grease, tar, and other debris while maintaining a polished, clean appearance.
Maintain carpeted areas, ensuring they are free of dust, dirt, stains, spills, and buildup.
Clean doors, baseboards, walls, and other surfaces, removing marks, residue, and buildup.
Adhere to company dress code at all times.
Complete required annual health, safety, and education trainings and demonstrate competency.
Report to work as scheduled; remain alert and engaged during work and training; follow absence notification procedures.
Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Represent the organization professionally, fostering positive working relationships.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Communicate and uphold the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.
Maintain any required licensure or certifications (if applicable).
Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Hazardous Materials policies (including OSHA, SDS, HIPAA, and Workers’ Compensation guidelines).
Demonstrate respect for diversity and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Carry a work phone at all times during shifts; respond promptly to calls, texts, and emails.
Operate a company or personal vehicle when required; ensure company vehicles remain clean and presentable.
