About The Position

CHRISTIANSBURG PRIMARY SCHOOL Full-Time, Evening Shift Custodian 2025-2026 SY Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time, evening shift custodian position that is available at Christiansburg Primary School for SY 2025-2026. JOB DESCRIPTION: The custodian performs routine manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
• Ability to read basic operating instructions
• Ability to cooperate with other staff members
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
• Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
• Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed
• Dependability and punctuality
• Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
