Summary Assures that all production areas of the plant are cleaned and maintained in a safe, neat and orderly manner and all GMP, SQF, and related housekeeping programs are followed. Description of Major Responsibilities Performs all tasks in a safe manner. Complies with all plant/company safety and food safety programs and policies. Removes oil, water, and trash from assigned areas. Sweeps and maintains floors and aisles in assigned areas. Cleans various equipments in assigned areas. Collects, weighs and logs purging. Maintains master sanitation logs. Operates various types of cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum, scrubbers, etc.) Rotates into all normal Manufacturing Custodian job assignments as needed throughout plant departments. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Incumbent works in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including regular weekend work. Requires standing (50%) and walking (50%). Individual assures that all production areas of the plant and office (as assigned) are cleaned and maintained in a neat and orderly manner. Requires twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs. Incumbent will lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and lift/carry more than 50 pounds occasionally. Requires reaching above, at and below shoulders.

Requirements

Must have basic knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to work around various cleaning solutions, oil, grease, etc.
Must be able to follow verbal instructions and learn to work independently.
Work overtime as required to meet customer’s needs.
Basic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalent preferred.
