About The Position

The Custodian - Temporary acts as a resource to assigned locations regarding custodial services operations, supply inventory and ordering of supplies, emergency calls, etc. This is a “safety-sensitive” position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience required
  • Successfully completes and maintains basic First Aid and CPR certification
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially Excel and basic data systems in MS Office and internet navigation.
  • Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to travel to various sites: Dependable transportation is required daily with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check and policy), current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, Inc.
  • Travel required up to 50% of the time for work-related site visits, meetings, and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Note and report the condition of the building through reports to the supervisor.
  • Maintain documentation of completed tasks and inventory assessments.
  • Document, report, or correct any infractions related to safety procedures.
  • Ensure, through documentation, that all team standards and procedures are performed at assigned sites.
  • Clean all facilities, including bathrooms, exposed spaces, and floors.
  • Replenish and distribute supplies and equipment in a timely manner to ensure continued custodial services.
  • Perform a monthly inventory of supplies and survey equipment within schools to ensure timely repairs.
  • Review and test new cleaning products; recommend new products for consideration.
  • Ensure the quality of work, cleanliness of buildings, and certify that safety procedures are followed.
  • Complete inspections of the playground and building on a weekly basis; report building conditions.
  • Perform routine tasks like changing light bulbs, general repairs, and cleaning water fountains.
  • Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.
  • Perform any and all other duties or functions as assigned.
