About The Position

This position is responsible for: Maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors at the Salvation Army building and grounds: promoting health and safety. Duties include picking up and taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows and mirrors, and performing minor building repairs.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D
One year experience performing general housekeeping duties.
OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, strips, buffs and waxes floors:
Cleans windows, dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Empties trash cans daily, collects trash from grounds, and sweeps outside walkways.
Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.
Prepare periodic activity reports.
Opens/closes building, as scheduled or needed.
Assists in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order and replaces light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles as necessary.
Assists in performing building maintenance, painting and repair work.
Cleans and maintains the swimming pool, gymnasium and surrounding areas.
