About The Position

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is seeking an experienced Custodial Worker to work through our agency as a contract employee with the State of Tennessee School for the Deaf (TN TSD) located in Knoxville, TN . This is an on-site position working from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. Custodian Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Serving as a lead custodian with leadership tasks assigned by supervisor. Operating and/or utilizing a variety of custodial related tools and equipment, including floor washing machines, buffers, and vacuums. Performing general physical activities such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, floor stripping, waxing, and buffing floor by hand or machine. Cleaning restrooms by sanitizing showers, toilets, cleaning sinks, washing floors and walls, cleaning mirrors, and emptying trash. Cleaning offices, classrooms, or other facilities by dusting furniture, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, emptying trash, and straightening work areas. Policing grounds to pick up trash and check for any other needed maintenance. May keep simple records and make routine reports of facility deficiencies and materials needed to accomplish work. Performing light maintenance of equipment utilized. Training new custodial workers.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
Must have at least one (1) year of custodial work experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Must have a stable work history
Experience with cleaning
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds
Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools
Time management and multitasking abilities
Good organizational skills
Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be willing to submit to and pass a TBI/FBI background check and fingerprinting, to include Tennessee and Federal criminal history checks, child abuse records, employment verification, and professional/personal reference checks (due to the position being at a school, any discrepancies in the background check or fingerprinting report will result in disqualification from consideration for the position.
