About The Position

Quinault Community Health and Quinault Wellness Center are looking for a Custodian that is interested in supporting our drive to provide quality medical and substance use services to the community of Grays Harbor Washington. We are located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula, surrounded by the great outdoors. Locally we have many city, county, state, and federal parks. We are surrounded by an extravagant number of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, ocean beaches, lakes, rivers, bird watching and much more. We offer our employees a wonderful benefits plan. All full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Vision and Dental. If your plan is employee only, we will cover 100% of the premiums, you will also have the option to add dependents at an additional cost. Depending on the location and the position we may be able to offer relocation assistance. We pay 100% of the premiums for our full-time employees for both short-term and long-term disability plans. We have a gracious employee leave program to include 14 holidays, paid annual leave and paid sick leave. This position will perform various routine duties to ensure the cleanliness and care of facilities and properties for Quinault Community Health and Quinault Wellness Center. The core work hours for this position will be Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, occasionally flexing your schedule due to tasks and assignments that must be completed after hours or on the weekends.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years or older.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in custodial or janitorial duties
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), or ability to obtain with six months within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to perform physical functions to include but not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds, crawl, kneel, and work in small spaces.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements.
  • Knowledge and skills of common office and administrative procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment and understand the social and cultural context of the patients.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively establish, maintain, and communicate working relationships with patients, staff, and outside agencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize facilities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Inspects and uses judgement in determining which cleaning techniques to utilize.
  • Clean, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash and recycle containers, replace light bulbs, etc.
  • Set-up and take down equipment as requested; easels, furnishings, chairs, tables, etc.
  • Strip, clean, buff, apply finish, power wash; utilize buffers, polishers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners.
  • Utilize additional tools as necessary; squeegee, ladder, scrappers, knives, etc.
  • Lock and unlock buildings and secure areas; to include doors, hatches, windows, etc.
  • Follow written and/or verbal instructions regarding use of chemicals, supplies and equipment, comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform functions outdoors for grounds and maintenance.
  • Keeps facilities properly stocked of supplies and resources for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Completes and files all requisite paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Cross-trained to assist staff with all other duties when available.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Subscribes to the mission, vision and values.
  • Adheres to all QCH and QWC Policies.
