About The Position

Join Pilgrim Place, a welcoming senior living community in Claremont, where respect, teamwork, and stewardship guide all that we do. We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment across our campus. In this role, you’ll support the daily cleanliness and upkeep of our buildings and grounds while contributing to a positive, service-oriented experience for residents, families, and team members. What You’ll Do Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of facility buildings, including common areas, restrooms, and shared spaces. Clean and prepare guest rooms, including set-up and breakdown for events and resident use. Shampoo and disinfect floors and carpeted areas; strip, wax, and buff floors as needed. Sweep and clean exterior areas to support the overall appearance of the campus. Wash windows and screens; clean vents in resident rooms and hallways. Safely operate and maintain custodial equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and wet/dry vacuums. Support campus events through room setup, breakdown, and cleaning. Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to appropriate staff. Build respectful, professional relationships with residents, coworkers, and visitors. Participate in safety initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team environment. QualificationsWhat You Bring Experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting. Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemicals used in commercial environments. Experience with floor care, including cleaning, stripping, waxing, and buffing. Ability to operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and wet/dry vacuums. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and read signage in English. Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time and complete assigned shifts. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
