The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout The Salvation Army building and grounds. This position performs daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, and replenishing supplies, while also ensuring trash removal and overall facility upkeep. In addition, the Custodian assists with minor building repairs, basic maintenance, groundskeeping, and event set-up. The role also includes responsibilities such as opening and closing the facility, ensuring safety and security, and providing support to staff and visitors as needed. By performing these duties, the Custodian helps promote health, safety, and a positive environment for all who use the facility.
