About The Position
Under general supervision, the Custodian performs custodial duties and ensures sanitation control. This role involves maintaining offices, buildings, or plant facilities in clean and orderly condition. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, removing trash, and cleaning furniture. The Custodian also makes minor maintenance repairs and oversees the security of the school at the end of each work day.

- Basic Reading and Writing
- No experience
- Hand tools (e.g., hammer, shovel, screwdriver)
Responsibilities
- Performs general cleaning such as: stripping floors, buffing, sweeping, dusting, mopping and scrubbing, cleans windows, walls, drinking fountains, chalkboards, and restrooms
- Picks up trash on grounds and sweeps entrance walks
- Replaces light bulbs and tubes
- Removes trash from the building and places in containers
- Sets-up and breaks down cafeteria tables
- Moves and rearranges furniture
- Cleans halls and replenishes supplies as scheduled
- Assists with waste prevention or careless use of supplies, equipment and utilities
- Maintains inventory of supplies
- Oversees the security of the school at the end of each work day
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
