Integrity Educational Services is currently seeking a Custodian at Hope Academy of West Michigan (2nd Shift). Further, this position is responsible for keeping the building clean, safe, and welcoming for our students, staff, and visitors. This position reports to the School Leader. The individual will subscribe to the vision, mission and values of Integrity Educational Services and the applicable academy. 5 days a week M-F/ 52 weeks/ 2nd shift

Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to do simple computations, calculate percentages, and use a calculator.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft or Google applications and/or willingness to learn needed computer skills specific to this position.
  • Must participate in and complete annual training, Professional Development, and various other training as deemed appropriate for position.
  • Must pass criminal history records search, physical and drug screen, if required.

  • The employee routinely uses standard office/classroom equipment such as computers, tablets, smartboards, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping and mopping of all floors.
  • Cleaning of the student and staff bathrooms.
  • Vacuuming of carpeted classrooms and the office.
  • Wiping down and disinfecting of surfaces.
  • Removal of trash.
  • Refilling dispenser, soap and hand sanitizer.
  • Restocking paper products.
  • Washing windows.
  • Setting up for events.
  • Annual stripping and polishing of floors.
  • Cleaning of carpeted classrooms and the office.
  • Shoveling building entrances.
  • Basic repair or installation services.
  • Annual cleaning of walls.
  • Periodic painting of walls.
  • Properly maintain and store tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a team.
  • Self-motivated and task-oriented.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
