About The Position

Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment within our facility. The Custodian will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning tasks, including servicing bathrooms, offices, and common areas, as well as performing floor care and maintaining equipment. This role is essential in promoting the overall comfort, health, and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors. Location: Lenoir, NC Hours: 40 hours; M-F 8-5 with flexibility; some night and weekend hours based on urgent needs Pay: $16.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Clean and service bathrooms, rooms, offices, and common areas within the facility.
• Perform floor maintenance, including mopping, buffing, waxing, and stripping floors as necessary.
• Sweep porches, vacuum, and spot-clean soiled areas on carpets.
• Dust and clean furniture, equipment, light fixtures, and vents to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Scour and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar surfaces to ensure cleanliness.
• Clean and disinfect bed mattresses, break down beds, and clean behind and under mattresses.
• Ensure trash baskets are emptied regularly, and rooms are properly arranged.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in utility storage rooms, ensuring they are free from fire hazards.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Assessment system, including Mealtime Assessment, Environmental Assessment, and other evaluations.
• Clean and polish windows, sills, wooden doors, and glass in partitions to maintain a pristine appearance.
• Safely handle housekeeping supplies and operate utility carts, ensuring proper storage after use.
• Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
• Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting unit needs.
• Assembly and household maintenance items
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
