About The Position

- The Custodian at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the company premises. This role is crucial in ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and presentable, contributing to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies is advantageous.
• Ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste removal.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them to maintain a safe working environment.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and report any maintenance issues.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas of the facility.
• Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Empty and dispose of trash and recycling materials in designated areas.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any maintenance or replenishment needs to the supervisor.
• Respond promptly to any spills or other cleaning emergencies.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down meeting rooms or event spaces as needed.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any facility maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the operational needs of the company.
