About The Position

The Fedcap School is seeking a reliable and dedicated Custodian to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors What You'll Do The custodian will perform routine manual work performing housekeeping and custodial assignments in school buildings and school board premises. An employee in this position performs a variety of duties which may involve cleaning of buildings and grounds upkeep. Work may also involve the moving, lifting, loading, unloading, and/or transport of objects or equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior custodial or facilities maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values at all times.
  • Support activities designed to achieve priority goals identified through the District’s strategic plan.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, apply sealer and finish to floors; clean and dust furniture; clean and sanitize restrooms and replace toilet room supplies
  • Utilize various cleaning agents mixing according to label instructions and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions.
  • Utilize various custodial and general maintenance equipment (i.e., mops, brooms, buffers, pressure washers, and blowers).
  • Bend by lowering the body forward at the waist
  • Climb stairs, ramps, and similar structures using feet, legs, hands, and arms
  • Crawl when necessary using hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Crouch by bending the body downward and forward using the legs and spine
  • Grasp objects using fingers and palms
  • Hear and perceive speech and environmental sounds at normal volume levels
  • Kneel by bending legs at the knees to rest on one or both knees
  • Reach by extending hands and arms in any direction
  • Perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Sit with the body supported by the buttocks or thighs
  • Stand for sustained periods of time
  • Stoop by bending the body downward and forward at the waist
  • Twist the body from the waist using turning motions
  • Maintain visual acuity sufficient to read text and numbers, operate equipment, and inspect machinery
  • Walk for extended periods to complete assigned tasks
