About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for youth, staff, and visitors at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens. This role ensures that facilities, program areas, and common spaces are clean, organized, and well-maintained, supporting the overall mission of providing high-quality programs in a safe environment.

Requirements

Minimum age:18+
Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks as needed.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Completion of all required onboarding and documentation.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, gymnasiums, and common areas.
Ensure that floors, windows, furniture, and surfaces are maintained in good condition.
Monitor and maintain custodial supplies and equipment; report needs for repairs or replacements.
Assist with setup and breakdown of program areas for activities, events, and field trips.
Ensure all program areas are safe, organized, and free of hazards.
Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damage to the Director of Programs & Operations.
Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, and facility standards.
Support Clubhouse staff and volunteers as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
May assist with moving furniture, equipment, or materials for programming.
Assist with emergency cleanup as required(spills, accidents, etc.).
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.
Maintain a positive attitude and supportive relationship with staff, youth, and families.
Uphold the mission, values, and standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens.
