About The Position

The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position. The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for 2 Custodians. These are permanent full-time state positions located at Rees Training Center in Hermiston, Oregon. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees' (AFSCME) union. NOTE: This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • 1 year of custodial experience that includes using equipment and supplies needed for custodial work.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Knowledge of and use of computers that manage building operating systems.
  • Knowledge and proper use and maintenance of PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Provide semi-skilled facility maintenance and repair, and general cleaning to National Guard facilities.
  • Support the Oregon Army National Guard and the Operations and Maintenance Branch of the Oregon Military Department.
  • Comply with State and Federal laws or regulations, policies, manuals, and procedures.
