About The Position

The Custodian (Third Shift) position involves performing all tasks related to custodial duties. The role requires thorough cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting throughout assigned areas during designated hours. Responsibilities include ensuring that restrooms are cleaned and stocked, reporting facilities in need of repair, picking up trash, cleaning windows, and performing seasonal duties such as snow removal. The custodian will also move furniture and set up chairs and equipment for special events.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• One year related experience in custodial cleaning and equipment in a commercial environment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
• Basic knowledge of custodial processes and procedures.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment including floor buffer, walk behind scrubber, carpet extractor, mop and bucket.
• Ability to take and understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and maintain good rapport with constituents and co-workers.
• Team-oriented and professional in approach to detail-oriented tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting throughout assigned area during assigned hours.
• Ensure that assigned areas are properly maintained; restrooms are cleaned and stocked with towels and tissue.
• Report facilities in need of repair.
• Pick up trash by emptying wastebaskets and taking refuse to assigned outside work area.
• Perform light lifting.
• Clean windows and remove soil from walls and furniture.
• Perform other related custodial tasks as required.
• Perform seasonal duties (i.e. snow removal and salting).
• Move furniture and set up chairs and equipment for special events.
