About The Position

Performs all tasks related to custodial duties.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of custodial processes and procedures.
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment including but not limited to floor buffer, walk behind scrubber, carpet extractor, mop and bucket.
  • Ability to take and understand verbal instructions.
  • Required to legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • One year related experience in custodial cleaning and equipment in a commercial environment.
  • Must have valid drivers license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.

  • Should be team oriented and professional in approach to detail oriented tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Performs thorough cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting throughout assigned area during assigned hours.
  • Ensures that assigned areas are properly maintained; restrooms are cleaned and stocked with towels and tissue, and facilities in need of repair are reported.
  • Picks up trash by emptying wastebaskets and taking refuse to assigned outside work area.
  • Does light lifting.
  • Cleans windows and removes soil from walls and furniture.
  • Performs other related custodial tasks as required.
  • Performs seasonal duties (i.e. snow removal and salting).
  • Moves furniture, sets up chairs and equipment for special events.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
