About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the clearance center, offices, and distribution center, adhering to the core values of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. This position involves various cleaning tasks and material handling duties under the supervision of the Leaders of Operations, Assistant Manager of Operations, and Manager of Operations. The role does not involve supervising others.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED completion and/or previous experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as a team member.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be fluent in English; bilingual is a plus.
• Must be able to continuously perform repetitive work at a set pace.
• Must adhere to wearing safety protective equipment while doing their job.
• Must complete safety training session on the Custodian Manual and Blood borne pathogen before beginning.
• Must demonstrate the ability to learn the techniques of the job during the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming of floors or outside areas at all locations.
• Wiping down or dusting blinds, metal window or door strips, soda machines, microwaves, baseboards, office furniture, chairs, counters, tables, phones, walls, artificial plants, lockers, sinks, mirrors, front doors, pictures and plaques.
• Clean light fixtures every 6 months.
• Clean bathroom stalls/fixtures.
• Empty trash in all areas - at least twice daily.
• Sweep dock area.
• Assist in donations, stocking of merchandise, unloading and loading of Goodwill delivery trucks and moving merchandise around the warehouse and back rooms as directed by supervisor.
• Restock supplies and notify supervisor when more supplies are needed.
• Clean break room areas before and after lunch and all breaks.
• Maintain excellent attendance.
• Perform duties primarily in the Goodwill Distribution Center, Clearance Center, and office with quasi-regulated temperatures, with some outdoor duties.
• Complete any other project assigned by direct management.
