About The Position
This role is responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance of the interior spaces at the East Side Neighborhood Services Building, including ensuring our classrooms are kept exceptionally clean and sanitary. These rooms must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected each evening to maintain a safe and healthy environment for both children and staff. The position works closely with the Facilities team to support cleanliness across all departments and ensure that appropriate cleaning supplies are stocked and available as needed. Is responsible for, but not limited to the following functions:
Requirements
- Prior experience in cleaning roles, especially in childcare, healthcare, or educational settings preferred.
- Ability to thoroughly clean and sanitize spaces, especially daycare classrooms, to meet health and safety standards.
- Consistent attendance and dependability in completing assigned duties.
- Capable of completing cleaning tasks efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
- Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and operating cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Willingness to collaborate with the Facilities team and other departments.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual skills helpful though not required.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine cleaning work such as: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing and waxing of floors, window washing, scrubbing bathrooms and fixtures, shampooing of carpets, removal of trash.
- Prepares rooms for use by various groups. Sets up tables and chairs and various types of program equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
