About The Position

The Custodian position at Westmoreland County Community College is a part-time role responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the New Kensington Education Center. The custodian will perform daily cleaning tasks, minor equipment repairs, and setups for events, ensuring that facilities meet established standards. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of all interior spaces within an assigned area.
• Clean all restroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, floors, and walls.
• Move furniture and transport boxes of College materials as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Clean upholstered furniture and polish other furniture and fixtures.
• Sweep and mop floors, and run mechanical auto scrubber in hallways and corridors.
• Buff hard surface floors with an electric buffer.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets and furniture as needed.
• Strip and wax floors, wash walls and windows.
• Report maintenance repairs, damaged furniture, or other maintenance or safety concerns to the facilities office.
• Change light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and perform monthly equipment safety checks of fire extinguishers and exit lights.
• Perform set-ups and tear-downs for events prior to or on the day of the event.
• Fill various dispensers, e.g., restrooms, and lids for coffee cups.
• Keep equipment clean and in good working order.
• Order supplies in accordance with established procedures.
