About The Position

Keeps assigned indoor or outdoor area in clean, safe and orderly condition. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space. Dusts shelves and furniture, washes windows. Cleans bathrooms and maintains supplies. Strips, waxes, and maintains all floors. Empties trash and garbage containers. Changes light bulbs and filters; assists supervisor with light repairs to, and maintenance of, lighting, heating, ventilating and other equipment; ability to read/comprehend blue prints. Mows lawn, rakes, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers. Performs snow and ice control. Uses trimmers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. Maintains knowledge of general operation of small power equipment and machinery. Assignment may change from building to building to meet operational needs.

Requirements

Requires High School diploma or equivalent, and valid Connecticut Driver's License
1 year of relevant experience is preferred
Education may be substituted
Must have ability to work in extreme weather conditions and perform strenuous activities, and have effective communication skills
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
