See CESA 6 Values Here SUMMARY: The Fallen Timbers Maintenance/Groundskeeper directly reports to the Director of Fallen Timbers. The Maintenance/Groundskeeper will primarily maintain the Fallen Timbers Environmental Center grounds, buildings, and complete miscellaneous projects at the center throughout the calendar year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operating various light machinery including but not limited to: push lawn mowers, riding lawn mowers, ATV’s, tractors, brush hogs, chain saws, and wood splitters Cutting, clearing, and removing brush from various locations on the 456 acre property Maintaining the trail system including grooming ski trails, trail mowing, and general improvement Transporting wood, vehicles, and other items with a trailer on and off the Fallen Timbers property Trimming shrubs and trees Removing snow around buildings and on service vehicle roads Assisting the Director with miscellaneous maintenance and programming needs Removing leaves from the grounds in the fall Repairing and maintaining machinery on the property Cutting, splitting, stacking, and transporting firewood Supervising assistant maintenance/groundskeeper and volunteers Performing other functions as they arise Assists with performing a variety of general maintenance, painting, basic carpentry, and basic plumbing tasks during the summer months, working under the direction of the facilities coordinator. Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges and cleaning snow from sidewalks. May move and arrange furniture and equipment. Loads unloads, picks up, and delivers parcels, food, and supplies as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Technical college degree preferred
Prior experience in a similar position
Small engines training
Advanced mechanical skills
Plumbing skills
Electrical skills
Basic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, and faxing
Basic carpentry and mechanical skills
Advanced small engine knowledge
Felling trees and tree removal
Operation and upkeep of various types of machinery
Advanced knowledge of plumbing and electrical wiring

Responsibilities
