About The Position

This role is responsible for a wide range of cleaning, sanitation, and general maintenance duties to ensure all production, clean room, office, and common areas remain in clean and orderly condition. This role also performs inspection, packaging, and handling of thermoformed or molded parts in accordance with quality and safety standards. Additional responsibilities include operating support equipment, maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and providing back-up support for related functions as needed. This role requires the ability to handle conflict and differing opinions in a constructive and professional manner that align with The Placon Way.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training, safety, and quality requirements.
• Ability to solve basic math problems.
• Six months of manufacturing or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs.
• Follow all established safety procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Perform general housekeeping to keep the work area clean and hazard‑free.
• Identify and communicate quality deviations or nonconforming products.
• Read product drawings and perform necessary product measurements.
• Always Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance standards within clean room packaging areas (see additional section below).
• Empty and clean all waste containers throughout the building.
• Remove waste and transport garbage to designated disposal areas.
• Dust and clean walls, frames, charts, boards, and light fixtures.
• Clean ceiling diffusers, vents, and other airflow/ventilation surfaces.
• Maintain slop sink rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Clean, sanitize, and polish tile floors and high‑touch surfaces.
• Dust mop or brush molding floors, machine areas, and aisleways.
• Empty scrap bins under production equipment (e.g., molding machines).
• Replace oil- or water‑soaked mats as needed.
• Operate sweeper to clean warehouse floors and remove debris.
• Blow down machines and conveyors to remove dust, debris, resin, and scrap.
• Clean and sanitize employee restrooms, office restrooms, breakrooms, and hand‑washing stations.
• Vacuum rugs and clean entry areas.
• Remove stains from vertical surfaces including doors, frames, switches, and entry glass.
• Wash and sanitize water coolers.
• Monitor stairwells and clean spills as needed.
• Follow all established safety and security procedures.
• Maintain the clean room environment to meet manufacturing and regulatory standards.
• Perform routine wipe-down of surfaces using approved cleaning agents.
• Clean floors, equipment exteriors, and worktables in accordance with clean room protocols.
• Remove waste and materials following contamination‑control procedures.
• Monitor cleanliness of gowning areas and restock PPE supplies as needed.
• Follow all airflow, contamination control, and sanitization guidelines to ensure product integrity.
• Document clean room cleaning activities as required by the process control plan.
• Inspect and pack products according to quality specifications and standards.
• Apply bag labels to accurately identify products.
• Verify material for disposal and regrind.
• Conduct Oracle transactions as required.
• Operate case tapers, pallet jacks, support equipment, and other production tools safely and efficiently.
• Provide back‑up for Packaging Technician and other roles assigned.
