About The Position

The Custodian II position involves maintaining cleanliness and order in classrooms, buildings, offices, and facilities, either independently or by leading a team of custodial personnel. This role includes performing custodial work, general maintenance duties, and training others in custodial practices.

Requirements

• Sufficient training and education to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed.
• Two years of custodial experience.
• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
• Ability to train and provide work direction to others.
• Ability to maintain facilities in a clean and orderly condition.

Nice To Haves

• Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned classrooms, buildings, offices, and facilities in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform day-to-day custodial care of multiple locations.
• Train and provide work direction to custodial personnel.
• Wash windows, walls, tables, desks, and benches; polish metal work; clean chalkboards.
• Dust and clean furniture; sweep, scrub, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; wash sinks, mirrors, and toilets; empty trash receptacles.
• Communicate with administrators and faculty regarding cleaning schedules and special needs.
• Oversee and participate in setting up meeting rooms and facilities for special events.
• Implement and oversee facility security practices and procedures.
• Maintain routine records related to work performed and materials used.
• Order and maintain an adequate stock of cleaning supplies and materials.
• Perform general maintenance and routine repairs such as replacing light bulbs and adjusting furniture.
