About The Position

The Custodian I position will be responsible for the cleanliness of the facility, which will include working with cleaning chemicals and equipment, operating back pack vacuums, up right vacuums, carpet extractors, rotary floor machines, mopping floors and climbing ladders. Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning restrooms/showers, floors, mopping, windows, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, setting up rooms, /arranging furniture and removing trash. Providing notification of janitorial supplies and equipment needing replenished. The daily duties also include and are not limited to keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties on occasion, such as shampooing rugs, washing walls, and removing rubbish. Duties also include, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk and other duties as assigned. Perform other duties/assignments as needed at the YMCA.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• No experience required
• Completion of all position specific and mandatory YMCA training within specific training deadlines
