About The Position

The Custodian I performs general cleaning tasks within University buildings. Full Time Position Monday - Friday 4:00AM - 12:30PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs cleaning functions including dust, mop, wet mop, vacuum, gathers and disposes trash, washes walls, vents, windows, fixtures, etc. Cleans restrooms using germicide solution for control of bacteria and odors, polishes fixtures, replaces disposables such as toilet tissues, paper towels and fills soap dispensers Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization

Requirements

• Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions
• Cleaning/custodial experience preferred
• Must have manual ability to perform general cleaning, which may include moving furniture
• Requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
