About The Position

The Custodian I position at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) is part of a team dedicated to reducing recidivism, enhancing prison safety, and improving public safety by providing incarcerated individuals with productive work and training opportunities. This role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness in healthcare settings within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). The position offers a chance to teach valuable life skills and work experience to individuals upon their parole or release. Employees will earn a minimum of 156 paid leave hours in their first year, have access to health, dental, and vision benefits for themselves and their families, and earn CalPERS retirement. Candidates must take the CUSTODIAN I exam to attain list eligibility.

Requirements

• Must pass the CUSTODIAN I exam to attain list eligibility.
• Ability to maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance for the job.
• Willingness to work in stressful physical, mental, and emotional situations.

Nice To Haves

• Custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning experience.

Responsibilities
