About The Position

Maintains the overall cleanliness of the facility and the grounds surrounding the facility. Duties may include, but are not limited to: cleaning facility using janitorial equipment including mops, brooms, buffing machines, vacuums, and various other kinds of equipment. Works under general supervision. May work independently or with team for completion of assigned tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Knowledge of: basic custodial procedures; of common hand tools and janitorial equipment.
Skill in the use of floor buffing machines, carpet shampooing machines, and other cleaning machines and Ability to: to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions for the proper management of chemicals, trash, body fluids, etc.; to use common hand tools and janitorial equipment; to maintain professionalism to with visitors and employees of the facility; to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and posted schedules; to efficiently complete assigned tasks within work time.

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 6 months related work experience, may be paid or volunteer, part time or full time.

Responsibilities

Monitor the overall appearance of the facility to ensure cleanliness and order.
Inspect and monitor restrooms at least hourly; clean, sweep, mop, and restock restrooms daily.
Communicate with the building supervisor to ensure meeting rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for scheduled meetings.
Perform general facility cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing furniture, window ledges, light fixtures, and other surfaces.
Strip, wax, and buff tile floors as needed.
Clean vents on a monthly basis and/or as required.
Prepare rooms for meetings and events.
Monitor the facility grounds throughout the day, including parking lots and surrounding areas.
Clean exterior areas by removing debris and trash from parking lots and walkways.
Identify and report building maintenance needs promptly.
Respond to public inquiries in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner, including providing information and resolving complaints.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
