About The Position

Custodian I: The position is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly facilities for students, faculty, staff and visitors. As part of a self-directed team, the position will take initiative to schedule cleaning and maintenance activities. Custodian II: The position is responsible for leading a team and promoting quality service. The position is tasked with covering other positions as needed, performing specialty area work and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Perform basic cleaning, sanitization and trash collection in and around residences halls and university buildings
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
Notify occupants of cleaning and floor maintenance schedules
Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice
Respond to emergencies and assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service
Ensure that assigned rooms and buildings are opened and locked as scheduled
Assist with training new employees
Other duties as assigned
Ensure that assigned areas remain organized
Communicate equipment/supplies problems and necessary building repairs to supervisors
Train new employees
