About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Custodian will be required to ensure the center is maintained in a clean, sanitary condition for the benefit of those attending the program and in compliance with health and safety rules and regulations. The role involves sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors of classrooms, offices, halls, kitchen, and bathrooms of the center to keep them clean and sanitary. The custodian will also conduct monthly cleanings of the range hood, if any, as required by the City Division of Fire Prevention. Additionally, the custodian will record supplies and equipment, inform the Program Manager/Educational Director of needed sanitary and cleaning supplies, and assist with food service as needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 2 years of experience in general custodial duties preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English, Russian/English, Chinese/English, Korean/English, or English/Creole preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 50 pounds).
• Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Record supplies and equipment; inform Program Manager/Educational Director of needed supplies and repairs.
• Assist with food service as needed.
