Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
• Licensed to drive
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate assigned employees
• Ability to operate security and safety systems
• Basic Computer Skills
• Ability to read/write in English

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate employee performance
• Perform custodial duties in assigned areas
• Maintain safety standards in accordance with federal, state, district, and insurance regulations and train custodians on proper and safe use of equipment and chemicals.
• Ensure that established safety procedures are followed including lifting and climbing. Make sure that tools and equipment are operated and chemicals handled according to established safety procedures.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor
• Keep records on supplies, materials and equipment and reports needs to Supervisor
• Perform inspections of building conditions and make reports of conditions needed attention to building administrator or designee.
• Assume responsibility for reporting needed maintenance repair including major repairs in electrical, carpeting, plumbing, etc. to the Principal or designee.
