About The Position

Coordination is given to onsite rentals and cleanliness of the Corps. This position is important as this allows a consistent source of revenue to be maintained for the Corps.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of general cleaning and products.
  • Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.
  • Willing to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Uses diplomacy and good judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
  • An attention to detail, procedures, processes, and policies.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
  • An ability to work with confidential material.
  • An ability to manage projects, priorities, and programs in a constantly changing environment.
  • A communication and management style that exhibits the principles and values of the Army as well as fosters team relationships and effectively communicates information.

Responsibilities

  • Complete cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, including regular cleaning and restocking of soap and paper products.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors regularly.
  • Clean windows and mirrors on a scheduled basis.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the building.
  • Consistently uphold the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Corps facility by following this schedule.
  • Will maintain janitorial supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in the coordination of facility rentals schedules.
  • Assists with monitoring rental of Corps facilities before, during, and after an event (to include nights and weekends). 1. Including opening and/or closing the Corps.
  • Serve as an on-site person for Corps rental (weddings, basketball, funerals, and other special events).
  • Will ensure rental space is clean (basic cleaning), safe and ready to use.
  • Notes significant problems related to rentals or Corps property, if any, to supervisor and Corps Officers.
  • Drive the Corps van to include: 1. pick up of EDS/DHQ goods. 2. pick up of program participants. 3. pick up of toys from sponsoring companies. 4. drop off and pick up kettle workers.
  • Keeping vehicles fueled up.
  • Ensure all Corps vehicles receive regular scheduled maintenance and recommended service checks.
  • Ensure vehicles remain safe, reliable, and in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Report any issues or problems with the vehicles to the Corps Officers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
