About The Position

The Custodian and Maintenance Associate at Solterra Academy plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for students and staff. This full-time position involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the school facilities are well-kept and operational. The associate will report to the Facilities Director and work Monday through Friday, focusing on both routine cleaning and maintenance duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
• Experience in carpentry, painting, or automotive repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, classrooms, and common areas to ensure a sanitary environment.
• Vacuum carpets daily and shampoo carpets as needed.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Sanitize bathrooms daily and empty/clean refrigerators weekly.
• Maintain and store cleaning tools and equipment.
• Perform routine repairs and servicing of buildings, equipment, and fixtures.
• Strip, wax, and buff hallways when assigned.
• Maintain grounds, including lawn care and snow removal.
• Install partitions, ceiling tiles, and floor coverings.
• Assemble and install new furniture and equipment.
• Change light bulbs and perform minor painting tasks as needed.
• Assist with moving and arranging furniture for events and meetings.
• Accept and distribute deliveries.
• Support the set-up and breakdown of stages, chairs, tables, and tents.
• Follow Aramark Best Practices for cleaning tasks.
• Safely handle chemicals and follow MSDS guidelines.
